Looking to strengthen your interview performance for HETV roles? BECTU Vision is offering a programme of support designed to refine your pitch and boost your confidence.
Programme Content:
· CVs, Portfolios & Showreels – what to include and how to present your work effectively.
· Interview Technique – How to prepare, and the level of detail needed for a project-specific pitch.
· Building Your Network & Personal Brand – Strategies to grow your connections and enhance your professional profile.
· Negotiation & Agents – Negotiating your rate at Head of Department level and Agents: do you need one, how to secure representation, and how to manage the relationship effectively.
There will also be a follow-on 1-2-1 with a member of Sara Putt Associates to receive a CV review, feedback and advice on next steps.
Who is this course for?
The Head of Department Development Programme is designed for those with at least three HETV roles as a Supervisor or Head of their Department.

Tutor:
These sessions will be presented by Sara Putt who established Sara Putt Associates in 1989 and has worked here as MD and Agent ever since. Sara Putt Associates is the leading UK independent agency representing behind the camera technical and production talent, from Producers and Directors through Heads of Department and Crew. Sara is Chair of BAFTA where she has been a Trustee since 2014. Sara is also a Trustee of the Film and TV Charity and sits on the Advisory Board of the British Film Commission. She was previously Deputy Chair of Women in Film and Television where she served on the Board for 8 years.
Eligibility:
The programme is specifically for established film and television practitioners based in Scotland. Please only apply if you meet this criteria. BECTU opportunities for those in other areas of the UK can be found here: England, Wales.
· Applicants should be based and working freelance in film and television in Scotland.
· Students are not eligible for this training.
Selection:
· As this is a workshop style course, there are a limited number of spaces available to allow participants the opportunity to interact and ask questions.
· Places are provided free of charge but are worth a considerable amount. Please only apply if you can commit to attending all the sessions.
Access:
· The training room will take place online.
· Access requirements can be arranged for those selected including BSL translation, captions etc.
