screen Sustainability

Culture for Climate Scotland leads Screen Sustainability for Scotland.

Working directly with individuals, organisations and strategic bodies across the arts, screen, cultural and creative industries, Culture for Climate Scotland is supporting the sector to address it’s environmental impact and influence others to do the same.

Visit their newly launched Sustainable Screen website for a roadmap tailored to each department with practical actions, guidance on sustainable suppliers and information on how to gain certification.

Our Sustainability pinboard

We have put together an extensive resource to help inform film and TV freelancers about the issues surrounding sustainability on set.

This board introduces the concept of carbon literacy through a range of reports to read, signposts helpful tools such as carbon calculators and showcases a range of tools and reports that are bespoke to sustainability in Scottish film and TV Productions.

Food waste prevention

Zero Waste Scotland have updated their strategies for reducing food waste on film and television productions.

These guidelines address some of the unique demands of production environments and offer practical solutions to minimise food and drink waste on set including responsible planning, preparation and disposal practises.

Re-Use Hub
In collaboration with Film Bang with support from Scottish Enterprise, BECTU Vision are proud to offer the Re-Use Hub which allows you to source, sell and share materials across film and television productions in Scotland to help minimise waste generated from production materials.
