Date: Wednesday 25 November 2026 | 0930 – 1300 | Glasgow

Deadline: Monday 2 November 2026 0900

Working in the freelance world of film and television often means juggling unpredictable workloads and irregular income, which can make thinking about retirement feel daunting.

Planning for Your Future is an Age Scotland workshop, designed to help participants take control of their long-term financial and legal well-being, with content tailored to reflect the realities of freelance work.

What you’ll learn

Through two focused sessions, you’ll gain the knowledge and confidence to make plans for a more secure and fulfilling retirement.

– Finance
Led by an independent financial advisor, this session will demystify the financial side of retirement planning. You’ll learn about pensions, savings and investments, tax bands and contributions, and where to find trustworthy financial advice that’s relevant to freelance professionals. By the end, you’ll have a clearer picture of how to build financial stability for the years ahead.

– Legal
This session explores the essential legal steps for protecting yourself and your loved ones. You’ll discover why having a current will, power of attorney, and other key legal documents is so important – and how to get them right.

Participants will:
> be better informed about the financial and legal aspects of retirement
> ready to create a clear, actionable plan for their future.
