About the Tutor
Heloise Beaton brings over a decade of experience in TV production and the invaluable perspective of lived experience of disability. She has produced hundreds of hours of unscripted television and collaborated with scripted indies and commissioners to help previously excluded disabled talent break into drama and HETV. Her sessions create an open, reflective environment where participants can explore real barriers and workable solutions.
Workshop Structure

We begin by understanding the ‘why’ behind disability inclusion:
> The Equality Act 2010
> Who is considered disabled?
> The Social Model of Disability
> Language and inclusive communication
The 5As on Production
Explore the TV Access Project’s 5As framework and how it applies to every production stage. Each ‘A’ will include: practical tools, discussion, and real-world examples, taking this beyond a slide deck and turning it into a truly actionable and inspiring session! Topics will include working with disabled colleagues, inclusive planning, access passports and approaching sensitive conversations with care and confidence.
Support Available
What financial support can be accessed to contribute to costs for adjustments in the workplace and how can the TV Access Project (TAP) help.
