Freelance Foundations: Emotional Resilience

Our Freelance Foundations courses are designed to equip you with the essential skills to help you thrive as a freelancer.
This workshop has been created to provide strategies to support both work and personal life, particularly during times of challenge, and focuses on ways to build emotional resilience – enhancing personal creativity, productivity and wellbeing.
By the end of this session you should:
> Understand the basics of how your brain evolved to impact your mind and body
> Understand the 3 key zones within the emotional brain with determine our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours
> Discern how your own thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are impacting your resilience levels
> Identify your own burnout patterns and resilience patterns, and how these affect you
> Create a practical plan to build sustainable resilience into your life
Who is this course for?
This course is aimed at early stage freelancers but suitable for all freelance film & TV practitioners in all departments.
Tutor:
This course is delivered by Michelle White, an experienced and qualified Positive Psychologist and member of British Psychological Society (BPS).
Eligibility:
> Applicants should be based and working, or looking for work, freelance in film and television in Scotland. Please only apply if you meet this criteria. BECTU opportunities for those in other areas of the UK can be found here England, Wales.
> Students are not eligible for this training.
Selection:
> As this is a workshop style course, there are a limited number of spaces available to allow participants the opportunity to interact and ask questions.
> Applications will be assessed, and for this particular course, we’re prioritising those who are early stage freelancers.
> If we receive more eligible applications than spaces available, we will endeavour to schedule additional training sessions at a later date (subject to funding).
> Places are provided free of charge but are worth a considerable amount. Please only apply if you can commit to attending the session.
