Microsoft Excel can be an excellent tool to make your work systems easier, quicker and more effective. This course is for film and television practitioners who have a basic understanding of Microsoft Excel, and would like to learn how to make further use of the software.

This intermediate level, hand-on course will cover the navigation and operation of the Microsoft Excel software – participants will get to practice using these Excel features:

> Large Worksheets & Charts

> Printing Options; View Options; Hide; Charts; Sparklines

> Formatting

> Format Painter; Styles; Conditional Formatting; Custom Formatting

> Functions

> Sum, Max, Min, Ave; Absolute Cell Ref; Range Names

> Pivot Tables

> PivotTables; Slicers; PicotCharts; Table

> List Management

> Sort; Custom Sort & Lists; Filter

> Advanced List Management Features

> Sub Totals; Advanced Filter; Remove Duplicates

 

Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for freelance film & TV practitioners who have some experience of using Microsoft Excel and would like to improve their knowledge of the software.

Eligibility:

This session is specifically for established film and television practitioners based in Scotland. Please only apply if you meet this criteria. BECTU opportunities for those in other areas of the UK can be found here: EnglandWales.

> Applicants should be based and working freelance in film and television in Scotland.

> Students are not eligible for this training.

Selection:

> As this is a workshop style course, there are a limited number of spaces available to allow participants the opportunity to interact and ask questions.

> Priority for spaces will be given to eligible BECTU members.

> If more BECTU members apply than spaces available, places will be given to those who demonstrate the greatest professional need for this training.

> Places are provided free of charge but are worth a considerable amount. Please only apply if you can commit to attending the session.

> We have a travel fund to support anyone who may need help with travel costs.
