CV Workshop and New Entrants’ Base Networking

Do you want to build your first Film & TV CV, or are you looking for ideas to give your CV a refresh and showcase your experience?
This CV workshop will support you to create a CV which is appropriate for their level of experience and showcases their experience. Advice will be given on writing cover letters, finding work, interviews and signposts for industry organisations which support freelancers.
By the end of this workshop, you should be able to:
>Create an effective CV
>Draft a compelling cover letter
>Be aware of freelance recruitment practice
>Feel more confident and prepared for industry interviews
>Know how to seek opportunities
>Access industry organisations for support
You will receive access to online resources and follow-on support from the BECTU Vision New Entrants’ Base.
This will be followed by an informal networking session where you can speak to colleagues and peers. There will be food provided, so please let us know your dietary requirements when booking your place.
This is your opportunity to meet and chat to others to expand your network. The BECTU Vision team will be on hand for networking support and to help with introductions.
The event will end at 13:00

This event is free of charge and open to those who meet all of the following:
- based in Scotland
- are outwith education
- new to the Film and Television industry and currently looking for work or early entrants who have some industry experience
The venue is fully accessible – please contact the BECTU Vision team on vision@bectu.org.uk if you have any specific access requirements.
There will be a quiet space that you can go to if you need 5 mins away from the session at any point.

There is free on-street parking and we’re a 5-min walk from Cessnock Subway
