In March 2025, the City & Guilds Assured Programme in The Application of BS7909 to Temporary Power Systems returned with a 100% pass rate—delivering vital training for Scottish film and TV freelancers.
Delivered by James Eade Training, the intensive three-day course combined theoretical learning with written and practical assessments. Among the 12 participants were Lighting Electricians, Rigging Electricians, Unit Managers, and our 2025 Electrician Conversion Trainee—all committed to strengthening on-set electrical safety standards
Highlighting the importance of safety and safe power on set, our course participants completed modules that included:
> Electrical protection methods
> Special locations
> Legal requirements for events and electrical safety including management of electrical systems
> Equipment safety testing
It was wonderful to see such a wide variety of departmental roles with an extensive range of experience and knowledge in the room for their professional skills development.
Congratulations to all!
