What are the Early Entrant Pathways?

The Early Entrant Pathways (EEP) builds on BECTU Vision’s own Hit the Ground Running and Get Set Go courses and are designed to help new talent gain the practical skills, confidence and insight needed to start a successful career in film and television in Scotland. 

If you’re new to film and TV, changing careers, or unsure where to start, Early Entrant Pathways offers a practical and immersive experience tailored to your department of choice.

This year, participants accessed courses across 11 Film and TV departments, including:

  • Camera
  • Production
  • Art Department
  • Sound
  • Assistant Directors (ADs)
  • Make-Up
  • Costume
  • Locations

 

Each course was delivered by respected industry professionals such as Mark Leese, Hazel Borthwick McShannon, Chris Maxwell, and Maggie Miller, all sharing their real-world experience and expert advice.

The sessions covered everything from the responsibilities of entry-level roles to essential practical skills, and what to expect on a working set.
